"A few things I wish I knew when I started my fitness journey - I hope this helps 💕⁣⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣ You can’t outwork a bad diet - I honestly thought I could eat whatever I liked & burn it off 🔥 It doesn’t quite work like that. ⁣⁣⁣
EG: If you jump on a treadmill for 20mins while I eat doughnuts for 20mins, I guarantee I will eat more cals than you burn 🍩⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣ Cardio alone is not the most effective way to burn fat. And once you have started weight lifting, remember that cardio is not the enemy - it has many health benefits! A balance of both is perfect in my opinion👌🏽 ⁣⁣⁣⁣
3️⃣ Mix it up to keep it interesting - outdoors, gym, home, or even just mixing it up within the gym from accessory exercises to compound lifts to changing reps/sets/time under tension ✔️⁣⁣⁣⁣
4️⃣ Tracking progress... two words... PROGRESS PHOTOS 📷 Massive fan of these as you can tell from my Instagram. Why? Numbers can play tricks with your mind, scales are not the be all and end all of measuring progress. Focus on how you feel - not just how you look 👀 If you’re lean as a bean but always exhausted & weak in the gym, is that positive progress? 🤔 ⁣⁣⁣
5️⃣ Get a plan!! Having structure for your food & workouts is the key to success alongside hardwork, patience, consistency & self love 🔥 "
